The Nottinghamshire World War 1 Centenary Memorial
(Officially opened by the HRH Duke of Kent on Friday 28th June 2019).
The memorial commemorates all the Nottinghamshire Military and Civilian people who lost their lives during the First World War between 1914 -1919. The memorial also includes those who died from injuries sustained in the War up until 1923.
The memorial was made possible by generous donations from:
Nottingham City Council, Nottinghamshire County Council, Ashfield District Council, Bassetlaw District Council, Broxtowe District Council, Gedling Borough Council, Mansfield District Council, Newark and Sherwood District Council & Rushcliffe Borough Council.

The project was also supported by the Nottingham Civic Society, Nottingham Open Space Forum and individual public donations.

NOSF sees this ambitious project as a fitting addition to the Victoria Embankment Memorial Gardens, a key part of the City’s open space network. The project will enhance this public space, promote greater usage and encourage further community involvement in its care.
